PENGENALAN ALGORITMA DAN LOGIKA PEMROGRAMAN MELALUI GOOGLE COLAB DI SMK N 1 PADANGSIDIMPUAN

The rapid development of information technology requires vocational students to possess logical and computational thinking skills from an early stage. Algorithms and programming logic are fundamental components in programming education; however, they remain challenging for many vocational high school students. This community service activity aims to introduce algorithmic concepts and programming logic through the use of Google Colaboratory (Google Colab) to students of SMK Negeri 1 Padangsidimpuan. The activity was conducted on October 23, 2025, using a combination of material presentation, demonstrations, and hands-on practice with the Python programming language. The participants were vocational high school students assisted by lecturers and university students. The results indicate an improvement in students’ understanding of basic algorithmic concepts and programming logic, as well as their ability to utilize Google Colab as a cloud-based learning platform. Students were able to implement simple programming logic and showed high enthusiasm throughout the activity. The use of Google Colab proved to be an effective alternative learning medium due to its accessibility and support for practical learning. This activity is expected to serve as an innovative and sustainable learning model to enhance basic programming competencies among vocational high school students
