PELATIHAN LITERASI DIGITAL DAN DETEKSI HOAKS UNTUK MAHASISWA ILMU KOMPUTER DI UGN PADANGSIDIMPUAN
Abstract
The rapid advancement of information technology has made information more accessible, but it also increases the risk of hoax dissemination. The lack of digital literacy among university students is a key factor contributing to the spread of false information within academic environments. This Student Creativity Program (PKM) aims to enhance digital literacy and hoax detection skills among Computer Science students at Universitas Graha Nusantara Padangsidimpuan. The program was conducted through a two-day intensive workshop, covering topics such as digital literacy, types of hoaxes, and technical training in hoax detection using the Python programming language. In the technical session, participants were introduced to fake news identification using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and basic text classification models. Evaluation results showed a significant improvement in participants' understanding, as reflected by higher post-test scores compared to pre-test results. This training is expected to empower students to become digital literacy agents in their communities and effectively utilize technology to verify the accuracy of information.
